JP Calma is a systems designer and President of MDCC Inc. and MDCC TECH OPC. Calma.Basic is his third building component system, based on EPS, following GFRP and HSS framing systems developed during Homeqube’s early work.

JP Calma’s work connects how buildings are imagined, made and assembled. This sequence traces the development of his component systems, from Homeqube’s early work to Calma.Basic.

    The first component system, using glass-fiber reinforced polymer, developed during Homeqube’s early work.

    HSS framing

    The second component system, developed during the same early Homeqube period, explored steel framing.

    EPS · Calma.Basic

    The third component system, based on expanded polystyrene, brings an early Homeqube housing idea into today’s Calma.Basic offering.

Where the instrument began

Calma Blocks brings forward housing-system ideas developed during Homeqube’s early years. Today, those ideas take shape in the Block Instrument and e-con component ordering.
